St. Charles

Welcome to St. Charles, illinois

St Charles, Illinois is a town located on the Banks of the Fox River. Early settlers were the Pottawatomie Native American Tribe until the Black Hawk War in 1832, when it was opened to American settlement. St Charles is often connected to abolition of slavery, and is believed to have been a stop on the underground railroad. St Charles became a sought out place for diverse groups of immigrants. Today the town has grown to over 30,000 residents.


The town of St Charles boasts a fun culture complete with musical performances, theater, and festivals. It has a historic downtown district, bringing in visitors to the town. The St Charles Public Library is ranked as one of the best in the nation. The town is outgoing and passionate about what they do.

Home to the Kane County flea market, the shopping in St Charles can be eccentric but also practical. Located just a few miles from the Historic Geneva Shopping District, as well as their own mall, St Charles offers the perfect opportunity for retail therapy.
