St. Charles
Welcome to St. Charles, illinois
St Charles, Illinois is a town located on the Banks of the Fox River. Early settlers were the Pottawatomie Native American Tribe until the Black Hawk War in 1832, when it was opened to American settlement. St Charles is often connected to abolition of slavery, and is believed to have been a stop on the underground railroad. St Charles became a sought out place for diverse groups of immigrants. Today the town has grown to over 30,000 residents.
